The game was being developed by various departments of LucasArts, Industrial Light & Magic, Lucasfilm Animation, and Skywalker Sound. Star Wars: 1313 had its formal reveal at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in June 2012. The world itself as well." ― Colin Campbell and Dominic Robilliard So when we talk about making something that's mature-themed, it really is about those characters, the type of story content we're going to be dealing with, and the kind of things they're motivated by. I just don't think those kinds of things go with Star Wars. " Sometimes games pursue an M rating because of this desire to do something gratuitously gory, and that's not what we're doing at all. For LucasArts this doesn't mean gore and sensationalism, it means adult-themes and stories, another reason for glowing anticipation." One could almost think that the double 13 really brought bad luck to the game." 1313 was going for a 'Mature' rating, great news for anyone who believes Star Wars' more child-centric offerings have been its most disappointing. Concepts from Star Wars: 1313 were used by EA studio Visceral for another planned Star Wars game, which never saw the light of day. Unfortunately, however, nothing came of all this: after Disney took over the Star Wars franchise, the studio responsible, LucasArts, was closed down. Besides shooter action, parkour and climbing sequences were also supposed to be part of 1313, as we can see in the new gameplay. With its dark setting, Star Wars: 1313 was aimed primarily at adults. The story of the single-player game was apparently supposed to revolve around the unmasking of a criminal conspiracy. Later, it was decided to replace him with Boba Fett relatively early in the game. Initially, this was to be an unknown character, as also shown in the Gamescom trailer from 2012: Star Wars: 1313 was supposed to be a third-person shooter in which we played a bounty hunter in keeping with the underworld setting. There is little sign of law and order here, which is why bounty hunters and criminals are up to their mischief here. This is located quite far underground in the city and is also part of the local underworld. The Star Wars game was named after level 1313 of the city planet Coruscant. And for me at least, it really makes me want more, which makes the premature end of Star Wars: 1313 all the sadder. Nevertheless, the video demonstrates well how the Star Wars shooter could have played. The environments here are for demonstration purposes only and are clearly not finished. The course-heavy scene ends with Boba Fett getting hold of his target. In the second, much longer section, our bounty hunter chases after two people, repeatedly having to overcome various obstacles and trenches and sometimes even climb. Only the many different creatures of the Star Wars universe could be missed here, but what was shown was hardly already a final version of the scene.

The atmosphere of a busy and at the same time shady sci-fi city seems to have been captured well here with a lot of NPCs and background noises. The latter is also shown in the video, which is divided into two parts.įirst, we see the protagonist Boba Fett strolling through an already largely completed environment in the undercity of Coruscant. But if you want to admire the gameplay for yourself without further ado, you shouldn’t have to wait any longer:Īfter Star Wars 1313 was initially supposed to have a previously unknown protagonist, it was later decided that players should take on the role of Boba Fett. We want to briefly summarise what the approximately three-minute video shows. Now a video has surfaced that once again shows what we actually missed out on. In the discontinued project, we would have been fan-favourite Boba Fett chasing down missions in the underworld of Coruscant. The answer to that question is Star Wars 1313. And ever since The Mandalorian, I’m sure some people have been asking themselves: Why isn’t there a game where we can wear Beskar armour and go on a bounty hunt ourselves?
